Preserving Personal Freedom: The Case Against Excessive Cycling Infrastructure Spending in the US

While cycling serves as a leisure activity for many, the push for extensive cycling infrastructure is indicative of a larger agenda to restrict personal freedoms and expand government oversight. Taxpayer dollars should not disproportionately fund niche projects that benefit a small segment of the population at the expense of more critical infrastructure needs. Encouraging private investment and maintaining the integrity of our roadways for the majority use—motor vehicles—is essential for economic efficiency and upholding the principle of individual choice in modes of transportation.
